太岁是道教值年神灵之一，共六十位，一年一换，当年轮值的太岁神叫值年太岁或流年太岁。太岁神在众神中，影响力很大，素有年中天子之称，掌管当年人间的吉凶祸福。
谢太岁也称还太岁、送太岁，是感谢值年太岁一年来的庇佑。冬至后立春(2023癸卯年的立春落在大年十四即阳历2月4号)前皆可谢太岁。
Tai Sui is the yearly deity on duty in Taoism. There are 60 of Them, and each is appointed as the yearly deity on duty by rotation annually to be in charge of the Good and Bad of the Year.
The ritual to thank Tai Sui is a ceremony for Taoists to thank the annual Tai Sui for His blessings over the past year. You can thank Tai Sui after the Dong Zhi and before the Li Chun (before the beginning of spring, 4th of Feb 2023).
